Lake Shelbyville is a favorite destination for fishermen seeking largemouth bass, crappie, white bass, bluegill, channel catfish, walleye, and muskie. The lake offers hunting opportunities for whitetail deer, squirrel, quail, pheasant, rabbit, mourning dove, and waterfowl. Lithia Springs Recreation Area is located northeast of the city of Shelbyville on the east side of the lake. Lithia Springs has 113 electric sites with a total of 67 reservable sites. Lithia Springs has flush toilets, showers, a playground, a beach, a trailer dump station, and a boat ramp. Lithia Springs marina is located adjacent to the recreation area. At normal summer pool level, the banks are steep and it is diffucult to get to the waters edge in many locations. To reach this campground, go 3 miles east of Shelbyville on State Route 16 to County Road 2200E, then north 2 miles to County Road 1500N, then go west 1.4 miles to the campground.
