Sure it makes ice but it is very soft and melts quickly. Would be ok if you were way out where ice is not available. It would take about 1 hour to get enough ice for 2 drinks. You have to keep a constant watch on it as the ice seems to stack up on one side and shut it off.

So I did my reading reviews and thinking before I purchased this item. I do have 3 camping Worlds not far from me. So, I bought the ice maker WITH the extended warranty. Glad I did. 1st one I bought online and it stopped working buy the 2-3rd time it made ice. Took into Camping World for exchange. Got that one home and it was a used return. I did not try it cause it was still dirty from whoever used it 1st. Not happy on that one! Took it to the other Camping World got a brand new one and I've used it all summer this year. I recommend that you buy the extended warranty cause they will deal with you.

Have had this ice maker for about 6 months WE LOVE IT.

It worked great for about 1 month, then stopped making ice. It seems the compressor worked, and the cold ice making coils were cold enough to make ice, but my theory is that the water pump failed. This unit is made in China, and there is NO place to get service. Camping World refuses to get involved. It's like throwing $200 away.

Simple and fast and worth the money. We have had the ice maker about two weeks, could not ask for anything better.Its a great little Ice Maker.

We've owned this product a few months shy of one year and have been very happy with it...both at home and in the RV. Now we're on a long trip to Alaska (purchased unit in Texas) and it has quit working. I called our local Camping World store and was told, "sorry, it's past the 90 day store return" policy. The instruction book, unfortunately, is at home and we have done everything we could think of to make it start working again. Yes, we've unplugged and left it, then replugged. We've emptied the water reservoir. Right now, we're looking for a place to dump this unit, although it makes a nice HEAVY end table.

I have only owned this machine for two weeks. Once you learn how to operate this ice maker, it is an outstanding piece of equipment. (The instruction manual is inadequate, actually close to being useless.) If you should decide to purchase one of these machines, I have only one recommendation. Take the time to learn how to operate it. If it fails to produce ice for any reason, don’t panic, check to see if any of the idiot lights are lit. If they are, do what the manual says. If this does not solve the problem, unplug the machine. Leave it alone for eight hours. Then try in again. You will find most of the time it has fixed itself. I would have given this product 5 stars except for the manual. Good luck.

We bought this ice maker on sale in December 2008. It did not work. We drove the 200 miles to Henderson, Nv and back to exchange it. Brought the new one home and used it three times and the ice full mechanism quit working. The machine will now not make ice unless you play with the basket every time it drops ice. Since we did not purchase the extended warranty the people from Henderson said we can not exchange again. A VERY LARGE WASTE OF OUR MONEY.

I have the silver version ice maker. Titanium? Anyway, I use it in my home at parties as well as camping. I fill it with distilled water and it makes ice pretty good, even in hotter weather. It's not super fast, but is reliable enough to keep the cooler cold and fairly well stocked with ice. I would definitely buy one again!
